Install USB to Serial Converter on Windows Vista

We Reimage the machine every night and need to automatically install 2 USB to Serial Converters.  We copy the drivers onto the machine into a folder $SystemRoot$\Drivers\Other2 folder and have tried using DEVCON -update but devcon fails.  I have also tried copying the files to the appropriate directoryes.  .inf to Windows\inf .dll to Windows\system32 and the .cat and .sys files to Windows\system32\drivers

Does anyone have any ideas how this can be accomplished using a script.

    Hi ethompson,

I don't have (and I don't yet support) Vista, so I can't comment on that part of it, but I do know that unsigned drivers are harder to install automatically. Posting the details of the error message you get when running the Devcon.exe utility would also be helpful.

    Regards,

    Bill
